Synopsis
La série raconte l'histoire d'Alex, adolescente rebelle en échec scolaire et de sa famille, les Russo. Son père Jerry est un ancien sorcier qui a abandonné ses pouvoirs pour épouser une mortelle, Theresa. Elle et ses frères Justin l'aîné et Max ont hérité des pouvoirs de Jerry et sont des sorciers en apprentissage. Les enfants participent à une « compétition familiale des sorciers », à l'issue de laquelle seule une personne conservera ses pouvoirs. Les deux autres deviendront de simples mortels.
